mods

ive found i have too much free time so i was wondering if there were any cheap ways to mod these trucks?

i think its in the aircleaner idk is it the bowl shaped thing that directs air tothe engine? or is it just the metal plate infront of the intake to the cleanerbox?

Re: mods

Removing the "soup bowl" is probably the most common mod, if you have it.

Turn up the fuel if you have little to no black smoke if you have a pyrometer.

Re: mods

You may have a restrictor plate and not a soup bowl, removal of the soup bowl makes the intake suction noise louder is all, adds no balls. However removal of the restrictor plate is a different story. See which you have, http://forums.thedieselstop.com/foru...te_id/1#import

Re: mods

Ram Air!!! atleast thats what i'm planning. The stock intake setup looks like ford decided to suffocate the engine. My plastic extension off the filter goes right into the insulation of the hood. Where does it actually pull air from???

So I'm plannin on grabbin a wide, tall single hood scoop, cut a hole in the hood, and get some padding to seal the hood to the air filter housing. Then just get the correct filter.

That should feed it plenty of cold air...with a little forced induction action with some speed. Shouldn't cost much more than 70$...as long as you have the right tools.

Don't trash those pieces, I want them, had enough hearing the 7.3, I want to hear my radio and my cell phone. I did the aluminum clothes dryer ducting only to have vibration cut it at the air cleaner.
