Moment of truth...

Ok have everything back together, Just waiting on my wire harness (had to order it from a junk yard all the way from oregon! i'm in pa!). yesterday was messing with trying to get it started (wo engine harness yet) that way when the harness is in the fuel should already be in the lines and can just plug it in and go.

ran a hard line to open the shut off valve, cranked the truck for a while, fired up for about 5 seconds then shut off (assuming that was just the fuel from the fuel filter). cranked a while longer giving breaks and letting the trickel cell charger do its job. I popped the rubber hose off the lift pump to check for fuel - didn't find fuel but as i pulled it open i could hear the vacuum that was still there. Cranked it for a while longer fired up then shut off immediately.

How long would you expect to have to crank to pull fuel through all of the lines?? When I had my drain back problem it would usually fire up before the batteries were totally dead. This is taking much much longer.

Is there a better way to be getting this fuel through my lines?

i had drainback and it got really bad it took 15 min of cranking while hooked to another vehicle to charge

i think priming the line may be in order take line off before ip and pour in fuel
then do the same before the pump ]

pushing the gas pedal wont help because the engine has the fuel pump on it so then it turns at engine speed so more gas wont help while cranking

an ele pump is also a good idea they arnt too expensive and you can leave the key on till you got fuel then try to start

Push in the schrader valve on the fuel pump and crank to it's full. Then crack ONE injector fuel line and crank until is has fuel, then do the rest of the lines.

I should prolly add i have sections of high pressure fuel lines from a gasser cause my old lines were all messed up. Don't think this matters but figured i'd through that out there.

That's interesting, I always open all of mine at once - I can to an IP fuel screw adjustment in less than 15 minutes from running to running condition, on my buddy's 6.9 tho I have to slow it down to maybe 2 or 3 lined at a time, still tho, never really had to do it one by one.
