When i get around to getting my motor out its getting painted International Blue . Its light er blue than the fords but its the colour it SHOULD be. If ya dont know the color pop the hood on a IH truck with the DT466 in it THAT color.
It will be either that or Cat yellow .
Well since it's not a resto, that gives you carte blanche. If you want it orange, paint it orange.
Whatever you decide, take the time to paint all the brackets and what not as well.
I painted the long block Ford blue, the brackets gloss black and clear coated the intake manifold and injector lines. Looks nice.
I have 3 disposable cameras full of shots if I ever get around to it.

That Damn Truck--84 F250 ext. cab XLT C6 2WD 6.9 from DPS, Banks and PSD turbos plumbed in series (ready for tweaking), new paint, lots of money and time and I'm still not done.
75 F250 hiboy 4X4. yard goat 360 CI C6 custom steel flatbed, doghouse removed replaced with flat sheet metal, all wiring removed, no key necessary. "The Beast" OSHA approved, though.
Mel, I'm all for going differnt, but chebby colours comon now lol. I personally wanna do my motor in a Ford blue or dark blue color like the 7.3 idi that Banks advertises. I say go with your heart, and I sure whatever you do with be a great addition to the BOOB collective lol. Once the motor is all done you should get one of those fiberglass front clips to put on it so you can flip it open and show off the unexpected idi power
