My turbo intake

Thought I'd post up some pics of the intake I've been building for my truck, whatcha think? Obviously, I have "flipped" the fuel filter mount. Intake isn't done yet obviously, I still need to smooth it off and paint it, but I just got it mostly finished up this weekend. The nipple on it is for the CDR valve, I just gotta pick up some hose to hook that up.

BTW this is 4" aluminized steel. I made the whole thing (aside from the last long straight piece that goes to the filter) out of one 90 degree mandrel bent 4" elbow that I got off ebay for about $35.

I may build a box around it at some point to isolate it from the engine bay air, but for now this works.

Talking further mods?

Since you went through all the trouble too make a new one, you might as well paint the intake tube with 'ceramakote' or some other exhaust type insulating paint or an insulating wrap, 'remember cold air is our friend' especially with a turbo.
Just my 2 cents suggestion to improve on a great start!

Good luck with your truck!

Yeah not sure what I'm gonna do with it, I have some heat wrap but probably not enough to wrap the whole thing.

I may wait and see how much heat it seems to pick up from the exhaust, and figure out whether I wanna wrap it or not.
