I am desperate need of the 32 pin connector schematic. I recently purchased a 1994 f250 with the IDI 7.3 turbo engine, zf5 tranny, 4x4. It had a bad knock so I am swapping in a industrial 6bt. The previous owner of the truck had a lonely dog evidently. I paid only $1700 for the truck complete, but any wire that was hanging down or seen was chewed terribly. I have a chassis wiring harness from a 1988 with the 7.3, but the connection a the cab firewall is much different.
I have looked for a wiring diagram and purchased a Chilton manual, which by the way is ALMOST worthless.
Any help you folks can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
WHICH connector are you talking about? Where exactly is it on the truck? What circuits pass through it? There are potentially several connectors with 32 pins.
You're right about Chilton's - it makes a decent tire chock, and that's about it. There are few (if any) pinouts, but this site has most of the wiring diagrams: Search Wiring Diagrams
The best thing to have is a copy of the original Ford/Helm service disk. The CD version contains all service manuals, PCEDs, and wiring diagrams (with connector faces of 4 pins or more) for '93-94 Ford/L/M USA trucks & vans; the DVD version contains all '92-96 Ford/L/M USA cars, trucks, & vans.
Hello and thanks for answering. On this truck there are two cab firewall plugs just slightly below and to the right of the brake master cylinder. The cables that pass through are gas tank related, abs, speed sensor, transfer case, rear brake lights, fuel tank select, and more.
the wires from the 88 are different colors, two in particular a bright yellow with green stripe. and a pink with blue.
I sure could use a good pinout. I cant believe how difficult it has been to find what is normally easily acquired. I have built many subarus. Swaps. Jdm crazy stuff. It was only possible because there were good wiring diagrams created and made readily available. Not so with Ford I guess. Number one truck in America and very little accurate information available. For example, I just rewired a 1962 F350 dually with the 352 4spd flatbed. All diagrams were easily found. Then from 85' until 1994 F250 /350 technical info seems to fall in a black hole.
I am excited about this project. I just purchased the solid front axle from a f350. I will swap it is as well.
this is the first ford truck that I am going to make a personal vehicle. the fit and finish are very good. good manufacture. I have owned a couple of cummins trucks and honestly if you have never driven a dodge you are missing out. I had a 2001 with snow plow suspension that was so stiff you could feel the stripe in the road when changing lanes. No joke. And at 318k the body squeaked, doors leaked, the dash disintegrated and I stitched the seats with enough fishing line to make a macrame dashmat. but it ran. really really awesome. Even with that NV4500 transmission.
Sadly, it was stolen from a friends house and my insurance didnt cover the loss. So this was the cheapest path to the best truck I can afford.
I did splurge on one thing. tires and rims. i went the 19.5 route with 265,70,19.5 load range l commercial tires with centramatic all time wheel balancers...
So Help me out fellas...I am in NEED of some good diagrams. .........come on universe......
I believe this conversion will be the best of both worlds. this may be my "keeper"
Another option is a short term solution to AllData.
