Re: New engine is going in, What should do for exhaust?

You know, I actually liked my OE with a straight pipe. Added a little bark. cruising went up 1 mpg. smoke started to blow out the tailpipe but when I was on the pedal it went 1mpg down. Felt like it had more torque. It also only cost me 20 bucks!

Re: New engine is going in, What should do for exhaust?

After the y there is a stainless looking woven tube, i dont know what it is? should that be removed? Where would I start my 3.5" or 4" pipe, and what is a good inline muffler?
Thanks

Re: New engine is going in, What should do for exhaust?

I bought a set of headers from www.Stansheader.com . I order them with 3" colectors because thats the biggest size pipe my local muffler shop has. I went with mufflers from summet part #SUM-633230 $38 each and there just like flowmaster. The headers are a work of art, allmost to nice to put on, lol.
