New glow plug wiring harness?

Where can I get a new glow plug wiring harness, or at least a replacement pigtail for the an individual plug? I have one GP socket that is completely melted down. Is this an indication that the GP is bad too?

Re: New glow plug wiring harness?

when my harness was melted from the manifold due to the wires being pushed asside from a different project and not put back in the right place I went to a large truck junk yard where they had mostly large heavy duty trucks and they had quite a few 7.3's in the lot for parts so i took the pigtail out of the controler and made my own custom wires and connectors out of butt connectors, the whole setup i put together for about 40$ and it worked mint. - Ford wanted about 100 something for this same setup. its really not hard to do it this way either. if you have round glow plug ends use electrical connectors with round ends and square for the the spade connectors, you get the point. good luck.

Re: New glow plug wiring harness?

If you want a new one visit shop diesel web page...... you will have to remove a couple of not needed wires required on IH trucks.

Re: New glow plug wiring harness?

Still haven't gotten a firm answer on whether or not a melted wiring harness would be caused by a bad glow plug. I guess I'll go ahead and replace the one in question to avoid burning up a new $199.00 GP harness

Re: New glow plug wiring harness?

Not heard of that before.........as only 9 volts reaches a GP. That being said my wires are a little disfigured by the connector.
