New I.P. now truck won't start

I just finnished installing a rebuilt (CFI) fuel injector pump after over 200k on the first one. The truck was running before... just showed the signs that it was time. I have unscrewed a fuel line on each side of the block (a couple of turns each). I have cranked it looking for fuel to start comming out. Then I was going to tighten the fuel lines and start. I have about two minutes of cranking time total so far in 15 second intervals. No fuel is coming out...ie no start.
How long do I need to crank before some results ???
Batteries are recharging tonight. I'll try some more in the morning.

P.S. I did find that two out of three monting / timing bolts on IP were finger loose. I havent touched them since it was timed back in 91.
Thanks for any info on this

Re: New I.P. now truck won't start

check to see that you have 12 volts and hear a clicking when you connect and diconnect you fss. if you have 12 volts and dont hear a click bad ip. if you dont have 12 volts dissconect the fss and run an aligator clip from the battery to the fss and see what happens. are you sure you have all the right plugs in the right spots? just checkin!
do you have fuel going through the ip supply line?-fuel filter to ip?

hope this helps post back and lets us know.

I will check the click in the morning. It did seem to sound right when I tried... but I will try again tomarow. There is lots of fuel comming out of the valve stem on the filter assy. I did tripple check the wiring/connections before trying to start it.

vell the valve stem and the line are two diff things. check the line going to the ip first. heck for all you know everything is right and it just needs more cranking. i know on my ip i had to crank the heck out of it i thought i messed somthing up or spent 300 bucks on stomethin that wasnt wrong. all it took was lots and lots fo crankin and yes please dont send me nasty pm.s eather. i only used it to get it going.

Re: New I.P. now truck won't start

Did not think about eather... might help and its not like I have used it on this truck before. I dont think a litle would hurt. On my 85 F250 6.9, I lost my glow system on a trip to the mountians...cold mountians. Starting fluid saved my trip several times over. Ran another 100k on that truck and sold it running like new.

Re: New I.P. now truck won't start

The next morning the fuel was flowing from loosend injector lines within 20 seconds of cranking. And started in the first ten seconds of post line tightening cranking. after purging fo a bit, the truck runs like it has not for the last 4 + years. at least 35% more power.
I feel dumb for thinking the power loss was just the 39 x 18 x 16.5 M.T.'s I have been running for years. I cant wait till I get back to the 38 x 15 x 16.5 that I always ran before this set, since the truck was built and delivered in 1991. the truck feels new again and Im sure with the new smaller tires it will run just like the good old days.
thinks for the info.
