not idi but ?for diesel gurus

[img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img]i have a76f250 project truck and afriend has i believe he said 3208 cat he said i could have it runs. will this engine have enough power to tow 32 5er? and will it run on biodiesel? I've got good news for ya. There is a member by the name of Dave Haven who has a 3208 Cat in a 1970 F350.

Here is a post a month or so ago reguarding the 3208... HERE .

went to buddies salvage yard today to what other diesel engines he had. he has 6 cylinder perkins with turbo on a big generator i think.has anyone ever played with one of these. i got it fired up and she runs pretty good, i would have to figure out trans to use [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img]what size engine is in small dozer? i would prefer inline diesel as i belive it would fit better

You get bigger in size you get more torque, but the horsepower doesn't climb as fast. My N14 is 14 liters (about 850 cubes) but it only has 500 horse. Now torque on the other hand is 1650 ft lbs, and I could turn it up to 1850 (tranny's only rated for 1650...sigh...).

Sorry to all the loyal 7.3 guys, but I traded my '91 7.3 in on a 2002 F250 Ex cab V10 4x4. SCT Xcalibrator2 with tunes by Powerplay Performance. 285/75/16 Toyo M/T's. Took a long time to get used to the ping-pop of a cooling catalytic converter...LOL.

'85 Bronco swapped up to a 302 4bbl from the 300 I6, NP435 4spd, NP208, 32x11.50x15 Radial RVT's, Soon to be 6.9 turbo powered.

86 F350 Cab&Chassis with a dump bed. 2wd 6.9 and 4 spd tranny. No mods to engine.

2000 Volvo 660 N14 Cummins, 500hp 1650 ft lbs, Autoshift tranny 10spd.

What part of "SHALL NOT INFRINGE" do you NOT understand?

Well I found a post about an engine swap with a 6.0 Perkins into a '70's Ford truck. Here's the post.

[/ QUOTE ]NA engines were rated at 175, 200, or 210 HP. Turbocharged truck engines were rated 210 or 250 HP.
Turbocharged, aftercooled marine engines were rated up to 435 HP.

[img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]ok so the perkins will work ,there is not a trans as i belive this was on a big generator originally. so have to figure out trans for it . my buddy said he is going to heavy equipment auction at end of month if i want him to look for another type of motor?? [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img]what type of equipment would a cat c7 be in ?? i played with the perkins on sun she really sounded good it has hour meter but it is broke,with no muffler it is pretty loud tried to figure out how to mount trans ,just need to make some kind of adapter would to find some type of auto that would work [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif[/img]would like to be able to smoke a cummins with what ever i put in this truck as a guy in town is always kicking my idis *ss
