I'm pretty sure you can pull the motor mount bolts and jack the engine up and swap out the pan. As for aftermarket or oem oil pan, I've had good and bad luck with aftermarket. Not for a diesel though. I bought an aftermarket chrome deep sump pan for my small block chevy and it was fine. I bought another chrome pan from the same outfit for my 351m in my plow truck and it was garbage. It leaked through the rear main even after swapping out the rear gaskets twice. The rear of the pan was a little out of round. It's a crapshoot and totally up to you.
