Oil Pressure!

Hello!
On my gauge the oil pressure goes as low as nown on the "n" in Normal!
This occurs independent of any special event! fast, slow, high rev , low rev..!
So i think maybe it is the sensor in the block or something!
Does anyone have a input on this one !?

Re: Oil Pressure!

I'm not sure about your year truck, but most oil gauges are only a glorified idiot light. The sensor in the block is only a pressure swicth set at about 7 psi. The gauge reading means nothing except that you have more than 7 psi.

Re: Oil Pressure!

You could hook up a better guage package for the oil pressure or do as I did check the system with a good oil pressure guage (Snapon) and install a new OEM sender. If the pressures are within specs what difference does it make if you have a $100 guage or a $25 sender your still looking for a drop in the needle and an associated noise or problem.
