OK!!!!!....got the fuel tunred up and the NOS going at 75hp!!!

Let me just say the truck has twice the amount of power it had before the intercooler, NOS and turned up fuel. I am gettig 14psi of boost if you can believe i still cannot exceed 800 degree exhaust when its to the floor at 95+ mph (w/o NOS burning) but the truck has never ran better. When i push the button for the nitrous it fells like i was at half throttle and put it to the floor. thats how much punch it adds. Friday im going out to our local 1/8th mile and see what it runs, then maybe in the next month im going to go out to our 1/4mile track and see how it runs on that. I really want around a 16 second run on the quarter. Without the nitrous, intercooler and turned up IP i ran a 11.5 second in the 1/8th mile im hoping to break into the high 10sec zone. i believe the nitrous will put me there. But let me just say that it is a totaly diffrent truck!! I just cant get over the diffrence. the next thing i want is those stage 1 injectors then see how those do, then maybe the high performance IP, but we will see. Hell i may turn this into a test drag racing IDI see what i can do and then fix what i break and make it better when i fix it. cause if i ever do (hopefully i dont!!!) end up having to tear the motor down then i was looking at doing-Powerstroke cam swap, prot and plish all around, custom roller rocker arms, better pistons and rods and look maybe some machine work too(not sure on that one what to do). so we will see.

well this was fun!!......let yall know of any other upgrade to come, hopefully i can help yall persuade yall's mind into doing some of these things so we can maybe one day we can run with the modified powerstroke

Re: OK!!!!!....got the fuel tunred up and the NOS going at 75hp!!!

Ya your probably right our 2003 excursion has a chip and exhaust and that thing is FAST!! I used the 40 jet (jets i have-38,40,43,46,52).
if you can believe my egts didnt go over 850 degree. I am suprised they didnt go much higher with the fuel tunr up but they actually only went up about 100 degree at most. But let me just say those little rice burners last night...they got a good azz ripping last night, just going home i ran into 3 of them and i took them all on, two i had atleast 5car lengths on them when i let off and then one it was pretty even on launch but when i hit third gear it was all over for him the boost i rememeber jumped to 12psi right off the bat then when i hit the nitrous the truck just jumped forward!! it was aweosme!!!!!!
But ya the nitrous it is nice.

Today ill do some more test for yall and see what egts are at difrent mph ranges adn then a few times with the NOS, and ill get back with yall.

Awesome!!! Sounds like it is fun. You must be putting out close to 350 HP to the flywheel now. Do you know how long the nitrous lasts yet (in minutes per bottle)?

I sense another Travis in development...

Any wagers on how long his engine will last?

Seriously, good luck. You may be a pioneer for all of us.

Re: OK!!!!!....got the fuel tunred up and the NOS going at 75hp!!!

I am not sure about the bottle amount for how long it lasts? but i am counting how many times im hitting the button, also i noticed today that when i nailed it my clutch and flywheel started making noise like when i let it out and it makes that rough noise. it makes that slightly whenim haluing with the nitrous ....the only thing i did notice is that my engine temp gaube went fro the "R" on normal to the "O" and a few times went to the "N"...and my exhaust temp when burning the nitrous i actually watched it today when spraying it it was not above 650 degree ...if yall can believe that!! cause i cant...i was shocked. I also raced my mom today in her mustang gt and i modified that too and its pretty quick for basic mods but both hit it at 45mph and all the way til 90 we were dead even then we saw "THE MAN HIMSELF" mr. popo....and we both back off and on the brakes cause we were doing 90mph in a 45 zone...but im going to race tommorrow at the track and see what i cand o...i will be sure to post info and results...TTYL

Re: OK!!!!!....got the fuel tunred up and the NOS going at 75hp!!!

Mustangs get owned by Grand Prix GTPs every day... (Okay, I'm not a Mustang fan--unless it is the 1993ish body style or the NEW body style). Still, it is very impressive for you to hang with a GT (automatic I assume).

I'd like to know what your 0-60s are like on flat ground with no wind. Could you post that?

Re: OK!!!!!....got the fuel tunred up and the NOS going at 75hp!!!

Your EGTs should drop when using the nitrous. Remember, its 120° below zero when it comes out of the nozzle. The cooling effect on the air charge, plus the extra oxygen to burn = lower egts, lots more power
