In talking with a fellow Dieselstopper, we've come to the conclusion that my pyro may be faulty. I've got good boost but low EGT's. Not good cuz I've been hammering this beast. I sure hope if it is off that I haven't exceeded the 1100* mark!!!! I haven't towed with it but......... still frowning.
Turbo, I bet your pyro is fine. With an unloaded truck, H-max turbo, I bet you would have trouble going to much over 1100. With a load, it may be easier, but if you are under 15psi on boost, I bet your readings are right on. By the way, what kind of boost can you get from your new IP. How do you like it so far? Scotty
Love it, so far. I'm only able to get 10-11+ hammered unloaded. Accelerates much better. I think it will really come alive when I get it timed, build an intake, and install the holly red pump.
I really want to ride in another IDI so I can compare. The car I borrower while the truck is being worked on is an acura RSX so I get spoiled in the accelartion department.
SoCal IDI Rally??? Who? What? Where? When?? These are things inquiring minds want to know.

one question.Where is your Probe? If it is post turbo and hitting 1100Degrees.....EWWWWWW.Not good! You might have been hitting some high temps at the head....Like in the 12-1400Degree range. If at the head then that seems about normal. If you really want, find someone with a pyro they are fixing to install and do a quicky install(duct tape and allegator clips) to double check yours.

About 280 to 300 at idle, and anywhere from 600 to 900 cruising depending on speed. On hills I drive by the pryo and take my foot out of it when I have to.
I would bet your IP is not turned up all the way. When I got mine, the internal was maxed, but the external was not. So I just let the external loose, just holding on by a few threads and THEN I got the results I was looking for. Scotty
Your correct the external is not all the way out. I figured that because it's marked with the "red stuff" that it is that way for a reason?

yeah, either my pump isn't turned up all the way or my pyro is off
idle doesn't even touch 250, cruising 450 or so. hills 650 maybe 700.
Unloaded of course

About the same #'s I'm seeing and I have mine in the Hypermax piping too. Cruising at 75 I will run about 550.

Mine was "painted" with grey stuff...LOL My understanding is that it is marked so the pump builder will know if it's been played with, therefore voiding their warranty.
Sorry to all the loyal 7.3 guys, but I traded my '91 7.3 in on a 2002 F250 Ex cab V10 4x4. SCT Xcalibrator2 with tunes by Powerplay Performance. 285/75/16 Toyo M/T's. Took a long time to get used to the ping-pop of a cooling catalytic converter...LOL.
