Petroleum based oil vs Synthetic oils

Hello everyone,

This is my first post. My question is about oil. Several months ago I changed to synthetic oil. Now I am not sure it was a good idea. Someone told me that petrol. based oil makes the engine run cooler than synt. oil. Any feedback on this?

I have a 1986 C Class camper on a Ford E350 chassis and a 1990 engine. I have been across the country twice and will be leaving in a month or two to go back to the west coast. I was thinking about changing back to petrol. based oil before I leave.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

That question has been asked and answered many times before. Your best bet is to search the archives. There will be many discussions on the dino vs. synthetic there. Maybe some guys will give you their viewpoints on it, but there's lots of info in the archives. Tim
