Whoa!I would stay clear of Jasper.Several have had bad experiances with their IDI rebuilds.EZ will chime in on his.Plus,if you have a problem they like to twiddle their thumbs till the warrantee is up then your stuck with the thing.DAS get constant thumbs up.They are expensive but they don't skimp. Re: price of new motor

I am one who will pipe up. Call DAS! I love mine. I spent about $6000 for a complete drop in unit. They are in Canada so the exchange rate changes the prices. And that was a few years, and many many miles ago with no issues.

Re: price of new motor

Wherever you get try it not to be a Jasper. I spended more money and time than I expected with this engine and it is not even my daily driver.

Then come to my site for tips on installing and using your Cummins. I think you'll find lots of helpful info there if you decide to go that route.

Re: price of new motor

why get rid of it just because it has 230k? i have a 93' non turbo with 207k and i expect to get a half million miles or even more before i rebuild but i am seriously considering swapping it for a powerstroke engine

Re: price of new motor

230K? I have 260K on two different 7.3's in E350 vans. No problems with either one.

Remember, these are Medium Duty International truck engines, not the car engines that Ford used as truck gassers (302, 351, 460). Now the 300 I6, that was a purpose built truck motor.

Re: price of new motor

Re: price of new motor

if you are going to install a crate motor, i would really recomend a Reviva mmotor. they were building them for International for years and were marked as Dealers Deisel. i have been installing them for years without one issue. well maybe one, still have no idea why i have low oil pressure on my 7.3l with 130k miles. they are a good motor with an excellent warranty.

Re: price of new motor

Yeah... my cousin has a '94 F-150 with a 300 I-6 that would walk away from my '91 with a 302 pulling a slightly lighter load.

I wouldn't mind having one of those good old I-6s... nothing but good things to say about them.
