I was wondering if the crossmember for a 1994 f-350 with a 460 and a 5 speed behind it, will work for an 1994 IDI motor. what iam doing is with our dump truck iam ripping out the 460 and putting an idi in it.
thanks for your 2 cents

tranny may fit if you have a 5spd tranny but the engine on the idi is larger you could do a custom oilpan but may endup with coooling issues

If your talking about the cross member under the transmission there are several different ones. I changed from a C6 to a ZF5 and had to modify a different cross member. Check with your friendly local salvage yards.

We are talking 5 speed to 5 speed here. The crossmember should be the same, after all it is the "same" transmission.
Now that is assuming that you have a ZF-5 with the IDI engine. The 460 transmission has a different bolt pattern and will not directly bolt up to the IDI. I believe some folks have re-drilled the 460 bellhousing to work with an IDI.
