RABS - Sinking Brake Pedal - Hyro Boost?

I was just curious if any of those with the sinking brake pedal issues have investigated the RABS valve? After seeing all the posts about the hydro boost conversion I have been thinking about the situation and it seems like anything messing around with the fluid flow to the rear wheels, if malfunctioning could cause all kinds of strange effects on the pedal.
Anyone scrapped the RABS? Since when does a 1 ton truck need the rear anti-lock anyway? Any stories of having your ass saved by RABS? [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img]

Sure. Some members have bypassed the rabs. But here in So Ca if you did and were envolved in a traffic accident... Well you would be found at falt because you 'modified' your braking system by removing a safety feature. Not good. If your peddle is sinking when you are at a complete stop do this. Set the e-brake while stopped and then push down on the brake peddle. If it is a high peddle and the e-brake sets high the problem is the master or the rabs because fluid is leaking past somewhere. If the peddle is low usually the its the rear brakes adjustment being way out. The automatic rear adjusters really don't work very well. Hopefully all you need to do is adjust the rears manually and that it. The rabs unit is very costly. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif[/img]

I wonder what the legallities are on an older "custom built" truck that never had RABS and has been converted in some way. What if you had improved the brake system in some way - rear discs etc.?

RABS ain't legal BS, it's a rational safety feature - especially with disc front & drum rears (the 2 types have different operating characteristics.

I had an old truck that on wet pavement would lock the rear and spin around to back-first (if I kept the brakes locked)....totally uncontrollable....
