i was looking at the rear end on my 94 250 and i seen a wire plugged on it what is that wire? what dose it do, becasue i have a older rear in out of a one ton i was thinking on sticking under her?

Wheel speed sensor for ABS. I am in the same boat. I have a 3.55 open dif in my van and have an older rear w/ a 4.10 LSD but I would lose ABS. You could swap them but I think the rear ABS is worth it. My last van was wrecked by my brother because he slammed on the brakes and the back end locked up and spun around. He wasn't hurt luckily but the excellent condition 78 E250 conversion van w/ a 460 was junk.
