Removing the speedometer cable.

How would I go about removing the speedometer cable on my 1991 F350?

Re: Removing the speedometer cable.

The transmission end is easy. Just remove the retaining screw that holds it in via the Y shaped metal clip, and pull it streight out. To get it out of the back of the speedometer is a little harder. You have to squeeze the plastic clip in there a certain way, and it's hard to see what your doing. Everytime I've done it, I don't know exactly what I did that made it come out.
