seal removal/replacement

I have to replace a ball joint today, so I figured that while I'm in there, I'll replace a leaky seal. It's the passenger side, where the axle shaft slides into the pumpkin.

Do i need anything special to remove this seal? I've searched the archives, and can't really find the info I'm looking for. Anything to watch out for?

Thanks.

Re: seal removal/replacement

If the 250 seals are like the 350's then the axle seal is installed from inside the punkin with a special tool. It requires removing the ring gear.

That's not what I wanted to hear, but it's what I needed to know.
Thanks for the info.
