Re: shackle reversal

I just replaced a rear spring mount on mine. It looks like if you just invert the spring mount you'll get about 2" of lift. To get any more from the stock parts you'll need to relocate the spring mount.
As far as inverting the mounts, you can do it with an angle grinder to grind off the rivet heads and then punch out the remaining rivets.Buy some good bolts and remount the hardware.

Re: shackle reversal

You can get 6.5" of lift if you get the front hanger off of a 250 or 350 and bolt the shackle to it with it in the factory hanger's place...

Re: shackle reversal

There has been considerable discussion about this on the PSD (yeah I know, I've been reading em) forums. Heres a link to a good photo description of the brackets required for the front Shackle Reversal There is also a kit that is being marketed with basically the same components Sky Manufacturing Shackle Reversal Kit It looks like a cool idea to get some extra lift and possibly improve the ride. I'm not sure if it actually helps in the caster/camber (not sure which....I'm tired) department because you're still using the same springs, but the truck will lose it's nose down look. If my truck was worth it and I had the money for bigger tires I'd go for it.

Re: shackle reversal

The SKY kit that is for the rear raises it 4-4.5" in the rear, depending on which shackle hole you use.

The SKY kit that is for the front raises it 3" in the front. This improves the ride, as it moves the shackle to the rear, allowing it to work the same as the shackles on the rear leaves. The leaves are at almost the exact same angle as the factory settings. This is because it puts a shackle in the rear, dropping it 3" and a drop hanger in hte front, lowering it 3" in the front.

Maybe you knew all that...oh well
