shutter??

OK here is the problem. As i am driving and the truck shifts into(in my mind) OD the hold truck shakes BAD. I was thinking it was the universal joint's changed them and no change, and talking with the guy at the parts store said it might be the tranny mount. which it was bad (came out in 2piece's)and thought that was the fix, not so.I changed the Diff oil and look the gears in there, nothing seems to broken no metal shaving, changed the tranny oil and filter, the oil was fine did not smell burnt and just as red as the day i put it in. I even change the transfer case oil. no metal chunk's in that. I am at a loss here. I am thinking that it might be the tranny going. any other input would appreciated

Re: shutter??

try driving with the e-flashers on, that will keep the TC from locking up, which will keep the shudder away if it is TC lockup shudder.

Re: shutter??

did you check your motor mounts? i would think they could be a culperate along with the tranny mount.
with your wheels blocked and the trany in nuetral to take the load off of the drive train, try checking the play in your yokes at the tranny and rear axel. does the shaking go with the engine speed? or wheel speed?

Re: shutter??

Select OD off on the steering column stalk right side, the TCIL light should come on stating OFF. That means the TC is out of lockup, do you still get the shudder.....

Also, test the solenoid pack, when the EPC (electronic pressure control) solenoid starts going or gets gummed up it won't allow it to have full travel thus runs low pressure... Also change the fluid, it sounds like a 'friction' problem not really grabbing. Lack of pressure means clutches won't fully engage.

Re: shutter??

Sorry, didn't pay attention to the fact that you changed the fluid already...

Check solenoid pack, get a pressure guage (at least 400psi) and test the line pressure while driving. I'm will to bet that's where your problem is. Also think about installing this, it will prevent your computer from telling the transmission to run too low of a line pressure...

I love mine...
