Re: side pipes

I sorta did that on my Jeep many moons ago. Has Chrome Hornies and while out wheelin we came across some CATs where they were logging. Found a huge bearing that slipped over the Hornie. I tacked it on and was the first to have "Chrome Muffler Bearings". OkieGringo

Re: side pipes

Mel (agnem) has added the "lake" pipes to his Moosestang project.

Send him a PM for the skinny.

Here is a PHOTO with a glass pack hidden in the pipe.

Yeah, it was the "CAT'S Meow", the ID of the bearing was 4", so it fit just perfect over the Hornie.

Re: side pipes

My truck came with side pipes, they sounded cool as anything, but it kinda smoked up the garage in the mornings, so I went back stock, but they did sound good.........

Re: side pipes

Yeah, they're cool and nice looking.I wouldn't mind having them but the thing is that I am scared of stepping on them because I would forget that their exhaust instead of steps.

F**k it,install stacks.I'd put stacks before side pipes.

I have a 85 buick lesabra that i bought new that's a 5.7 gm diesel and I have side pipes that I installed.I had to park it in the shop during winter so I could start it. I mean it was bad. Smoke everywhere.

It has 893,xxxk miles.I wouldn't install them.

Straight behind the rear is best.

Re: side pipes

you could do like I did and make it just a side exit exhaust. I really like how mine sounds with no mufflers. going down the freeway when you get against a wall the sound comes back pretty good!! Check out my pics and you can see what i did with mine.
