Soda fizz in radiator

Split from my other thread.

Speaking of another problem--

I have air bubbles in my radiator. Like soda fizz. LOTS of foamy, small bubbles! When I turn the engine off I hear bubbling/boiling sound for about a minute. Runs pretty well though. There seems to be circulation or I'd see overheating right?

What does this mean? Is this what cavitation looks like?

The engine (probably remanufactured) says "Dealers Diesel", a company now called REVIVA. Former U-Haul, about 30,000 miles on this engine.

No temperature rise, no cabin heat. I haven't replaced the thermostat yet, due to wind chills well below zero F, so I still don't know about the check ball either. Coolant looks a bit rusty, measures at -34F.

I'm thinking I made a mistake buying this....

How clean is the rad core looking into the rad cap hole....... What color is the coolant.......
Do you have continued bubbling into the overflow reservior...............
Try squeezing the lower rad hose..... if it goes flat there is an internal shape retaining spring missing.....

If I drive for half an hour, the Temperature guage barely moves off minimum, and the heater/defroster will get *almost* lukewarm.

Green coolant is a little rusty, not too bad. Radiator looks clean. I'll check for the spring but haven't noticed the lower hose collapsing.

No bubbling into the overflow.

I wonder if it is rust or someone has added a different color product not compatable with the green or vise versa.

I know there is one brand of sealer that will cause a lot of bubbles with a small compression leak. Won't fix the leak either.
