Re: Someone Dispell this Myth.......

huh?? Just a WAG but if a DT444 is a direct injection (D) turbocharged (T) 444 cubic inch engine, and is a descendant of the 7.3 idi, would the turbo idi be called a T444 and the NA version simply a 444?.....Also on the IH DIESEL TALK page in the link section they call the 7.3 powerstroke the T444E...whats the E for? They dont give any other designations to the 6.9 and 7.3 idi's but i think i have read the T444 designation somewhere else. Maybe im crazy. Where did ya get the bla185? I can guess the 185 rated hp, but bla?

Re: Someone Dispell this Myth.......

Goiong by IH's typical designation it would be a DV444, but it's a bunch of letters an #s that make no sense 185A. For some reason the 6.9/7.3 were sort of orphaned from the traditional IH designations. There is no Dt444. All the Dt engines are inline sixes, Dt360, 466, 530, and Ht570.
