Anyway, I was timing my truck, a while back, and as I was putting the injector lines back on the injector, I must have cross threaded one of them....... the nut on the line split. So, I need a new injector line. Can anyone recommend a good source for new injector line, at a reasonable price?
It is the one on the front-left-hand side, as you stand looking at the engine, with your belly on the grill. On my truck, that injector has a tall copper looking thingy on it. [I never have figured out what that thing is.... can someone tell me?] Can the copper thingy be removed and a different injector line be used?
Several years ago, I bought some Ford Diesel Parts on-line for my truck, at great prices: shift boot for my ZF5, another shift linkage part, bottom flywheel cover.... I think that's all. I don't remember the name of that company or there website, and I cannot find my invoice for that purchase. I don't know if they sold injector lines or not, but, if so, that would be a great place to get them. PSDiesel Parts or something like that..... ring a bell with anyone?
Thanks in advance!

That thingie is a timing adaptor for use with the Rotunda timing setup. There's no reason to remove the adaptor, but if you want to you can use a line for a 7.3L van which uses the adaptor on a different line.

I think I might have stripped the threads on that timing thing. If I get the injector line from a van, does it need to be the same year as my truck - 1991 7.3L NA (non-turbo)?
Thanks!

Thanks again for the info and the link!
Wow! Only $35 for that injector line! I paid $85 for one, from a local dealer (stealer) about 2 yrs ago!

If you can tell me which cyl it goes to I had a bunch of extra lines that were not cracked. If it is one of those I will send you the one. We are putting the engine together tues so if you let me know I will get back to u. If it is one of the cracked ones I wont be able to help.

I had this exact same one do the same thing to me. The Ford House got me the line and told me the spacer/coupling is not required because it is only there for a timing/tester equipment. They also got me a line made for the newer model pickup that was designed to fit without the spacer/coupling. Be careful because the only way to get to the other end of the line is to disconnect the first couple of lines on the IP to get to where the line giving you problems is bolted at the IP. Getting the line for the new model truck saved me about $55.00 for a new spacer/coupling that is really not required or needed. I will see if I can locate the paper work to get the Ford Part number for the line they sold me that fits without the spacer/coupling.

The parts guy was feeding you a line of bull. I have a 94 - last year of IDI production, and it has the timing adaptor. Now he may have sold you an EARLIER line, for a 6.9L which did not use the adaptor. I would use the van line, which is made to match the other 7 lines.
