Re: Starter

Are you jumping across the 2 big terminals or applying power to the small terminal?

Your fender mounted solenoid simply sends power to the small terminal on the starter mounted solenoid, which closes that solenoid and sends power to the starter.

Start your diagnostics topside. Run power to the small terminal on the fender mounted solenoid. If the motor turns over, the solenoids are OK, and you have a wiring problem.

If it doesn't turn over, jump across the 2 big terminals on the fender mounted starter. If the motor turns over, then the fender mounted solenoid is bad.

If it still doesn't turn over, then jump power to the small terminal on the starter mounted solenoid. If it turns over, then there is a wiring problem between the 2 solenoids. If it does not turn over, then the starter mounted solenoid is bad.

Just follow the power progressively from the ignition switch down to the starter until something doesn't do what it is supposed to do.
