just wanted to update, I did have the 3 correct bolts out. I searched on here before I went at it, so I knew about the hidden bolt. It was just stuck on there real good. It finally popped loose when I got desperate and jacked a block under it, then jumped on the bumper. Needless to say I put some anti-sieze on the new starter before installing.
That's a weird one. If I remember right, there's a thin metal plate between the starter and the bell housing. I wonder if it's a hair off in relation to the housing hole and a previous owner forced the starter on with the bolts.
ebay has good starters for round 100 and they have no core
also i guarentee that the top bolt is in still.
and i also like that long bolt idea i hope i dont need it for a long time (new starter) but man would it be alot easier.
