Starting problems

When I go to start my vam after it has set 3-4 hours or more, it fires right up, runs for about 2 seconds, then increases in RPMs for a moment and then dies. After that it takes 30 seconds of cranking to start. Injctor leaks? Fuel regulator problems? Help!

What is a vam?

Sounds to me like it might be your injection pump. That is if a vam has one .
