New "O" Rings but reused the caps & lines as they were only a year old one tank ran dry last week & the elec pump went dead so I pump a mech on, ran OK before could my filter be pluged? now it will start then die.

Ya think, last week she ran fine then she ran out of fuel & hasn't run for S%%% since.
What do you mean, "ran out of fuel"?
Do you think the problem occurred when the fuel was coincidentally low?

Builder what I was wondering in my fevered lil' noggin was since it didn't do this before that maybe it was conected to the sucking the front tank dry. Since then she just hasn't run for long even after I figured that the elec pump was bad & put a mech one back on, so I was wondering if maybe the filter is the problem?

It could be a small leak or just some air in the return lines to the tank. The thing with your truck is that if you run the tank dry it allows the return line to get air in it especially if you leave the truck to sit for a bit before filling up. If you have dual tanks it'll do the same thing but usually after a little bit of cranking you can usually get it to start. If after a tank or two of fuel it clears up that's probably what was causing the problem. A quick tip for dual tanks is only run your tanks to about 1/4 empty and then the return line can't get any air in it...though on long trips I'll usually run them down until the gauge reads "E" as even there I still seem to have about 6 gallons left in the tank and then I make sure to fuel up before shutting my truck off at the end of the long trip.
And that's my 2 cents.

hmm strange...not sure I can help out much more I've never run a tank dry just had hard starting with low fuel. When you pull the filter off though it should definitely be full of fuel.

Just for s&g's started her just now & she ran for 9 minutes before starting to surge then died did not try to restart.
I just came back from the garage and found that my 6 way valve is stuck and not transfereing fuel cprrectly. The front tank should only have 5 or 6 gallons and she was full. They are going to replace the 6 way with as new one tommorrow and maybe that will correct my stalling.
Might be your IP, I'm replacing my 2nd one now with the same symptoms. Fires right up but then dies, if you hold yours to the floor can you get it to stay running? Mine will sometimes but putting in a new IP shortly here.
