stout motor build

ok im picking up a spare motor today and im going to build it up to be as powerful as possible without major money in it

ill add pics when i can

heres my plan
girdle for the main caps on the bottom from hypermax (or home made)
ported heads
high rise intake
sbc style air cleaner
n/a (no turbo for now)
headers
then im going to run propane injection or use wmo as fuel (higher btus)

thats the start along with a few other mods that im going to do if i can work them out

twin turbo like on the new powerstrokes (still only 10-15 psi the hard part)

now heres specs on the motor
its a good shape rebuildable motor from a 94 stock turbo truck
its got issues on one or 2 cylinders that ill fix
its a fairly low milage motor and if it needs sleeved ill also get that done
the stock turbo is going on the daily driver

now the questions
what to put this in? i want a big 4x4 so im thinking jeep or bronco
but thats down the road a bit

now what is all the issues with these motors? im going to have to fix them to make this thing hold power

and i want a manual when its in the rig so heres the options nv4500 stock 4 speed or a t5 from a mustang

any input let me know

ill add pics as i can tomorrow ill have pics of the motor

You have to call hypermax and ask about the girtle, and trust me it will break your budget, and if your not going to be trying to make any serious power then you dont need it,

If it was me i would find a good late model 6.9 or a 7.3 that you know for sure has no cavitation issues! Strip it completely down have everything checked out replace anything that needs to be, put all new bearings all new pistons milled 60 thousands off the tops, then ceramic coated, for the heads i would put all new 7.3 turbo motor valves rockers etc. Head studs intake studs and exaust manifold studs, Then i would get a good hot pump made, probly a moose pump or a moose pump plus with a rev limiter set to 4200 rpm, and moose mister injectors, but i would put the stock fuel system on it to break the engine in very slow and easy 5000 miles, as for turbos a compound system a ats 093 turbo for the small turbo, and a psd turbo for the large one with the 1.00 housing intake and 1.15 for exaust side, and a 99 psd intercooler to cool everything off, that combonation should lay some pretty good numbers down

no need for hi rise intake. it isnt like a gasser that the fuel air mixture is mixed in the intake. hirise is just more tubing for air to go threw.

BALANCE THE BOTTOM END. it will run so much smoother.

also why not bolt it to a zf5?

I agree the high rise intake will be for looks more than usefulness. I want to see LOTS of pics. and you can break it in by driving it out here

pics will happen the motor is on wait now the company swaping it out of the other truck is taking a day or 2 extra which sucks but im in no rush

well this could go into either a mud truck or a rock crawler so im also going to try to fix the low oil at idle issue for the idle issue im going to use a bafle and dump oil over the rockers i think

the hi rise intake is mostly loops and secondly weight
also some turbo plumbing will be put into it to make better flow because the hats the engines curently use are fairly restrictive

moose pump will probally be how i go but... i want to try and build up my own pump if its not hard but well see i like mel's power in those pumps

now balancing the bottom end? this is machine shop work correct?

chuckster id love to drive out and visit but even when its all done idk if thatll be possible, maybe next time youre on vacation

i like the girdle my dads a excelent welder and i think i can have him fab me something up anyone have a link to the idi girdle (just a pic for ideas) idk how much power this will make so im on the fence about it but if i get over 300 then i know ill need it

Calculating Compression Ratio

I understand not being able to drive out here if it's in a rock crawer or mudder...
