ok now that i got the motor some info on it
7.3 idi out of a 94 truck stock turbo motor
it may have 2 bad injectors (i will rebuild or replace)
i do know it has a knock on the 3rd cylinder on the drivers side
its more of a tick than a knock
i think its a valve issue from hearing it so heres the plan im ging to pull the head and take a look for damaged valves today (i hope the motor is covered in oil and idk if the place that pulled it drained the fluids) so when i get the head pulled ill add some pics

now a question for the members
whats the rocker ratio im looking to upgrade the pushrods but idk how to get new better rockers those stamped ones are weak and seem to be a main limiter of the motor
im looking for a billet one you see on race gas engines i just need to know how to measure it

I don't know the ratio for the rockers, but if I had to hazard a guess I would say probably 1.5 or 1.6:1

If you do find a set of roller rockers, let me know.

I have been working on swapping on roller rockers and just havent devoted time to it. Making some money has gotten in the way of r&d.
They are 1.5 ratio.
Mahle makes replacement pistons that are already shorter tops to lower compression.Mahle was the OEM for the pistons, best ones available.
PSD rods are not the same.
Here is the list of what I have done to my engine
Sleeved 2 bad holes and bored 20 over, coated low comp pistons, rods bushed and bored about 8 thou shorter to lower comp more, coated bearings ,rockers, pivots. Torque cam. bronze PRP valve guides, the best there is IMO, inconel exhaust valves, new springs are mandatory. Polished ports, balanced bottom end.Block decked 4 thou, heads 5. ARP studs for the heads.
New melling oil pump. NOT recommended. Check out the original, if it is in spec, re use it. Polished and shimmed the oil relief, they get sticky after many miles.
I had to remachine mine to get the clearances in spec, the melling rep said they cant check them all, nice attitude. Cermakromed the exhaust parts to keep in the heat for the turbo.

i didnt get to pull the head yet but i did pull the valve cover and it looks like the pushrods are in good shape so hopefully its a valve

stand will be fine im giong to pull the heads first and still support it with a 2x4
anyone know the tranny bolt size? i need to pick some up to hold it
i know thats the compresion chuckster thanks though
i meant the new compression ratio because i want to run twin turbos on it like the new superduty on the same pipe
i think na it will need to be around 19.5-1 then at first turbo (always spinning) 20-1 then 21-1 or so with the second kicked in

progress sorry no pics too dark to take um today
i took off the intake and pulled all the gps and injectors
the cylinders all look pretty good from gps no oil and no swelling except on one cylinder but it was an autolite gp so im not too concerned
injectors were all pulled before i picked up the motor (not sure why) and they look ok but dirty

Yeah I realized what you meant after I posted and thought about it. I did give you the formula for figuring it out right? I am getting antsy to see some pics here...
