I am considering buying a tachometer to install in my RV. Can someone tell me what the redline is on our IDI's so I buy one that is appropriate? What do you attach a tachometer to on a diesel? Does anyone have any good sources? Thanks.

Red line is around 3500........ I think a cluster change is needed to try and do a factory looking dash.......contact YARIC008 on the van forum I think he did it.........

Cluster change is (I'm assuming) way over my mechanical capabilities. I was looking to buy a freestanding guage and pod mount it or pillar mount. This would give me some flexibility as I would also like to have a pyro guage in the future as well. Does anyone make pillar pods for older van body?

Back in 92 I had a Dodge turbo diesel and they offered a Optional tach gauge with pod that mounted on the dash and plugged into a socket behind the instrument cluster. I don't know if it would adapt to our engines and the tach sensor on the IP housing. Have you done a internet search for what you want? OkieGringo
