where do I change the stat on a 7.3l???

Just changed the radiator out and filled the system. Now the top radiator collapse now.

Behind the alternator and the upper hose is connected to the thermostat outlet.

Thanks that is what I thought. I was hoping it be easier.

It's an easy job. Try it on a van if you want difficult.

Are you saying that the upper tank has collasped or the hose ? Is it a metal tank or plastic ?
Does the bottom hose have a spring in it to keep it from collapsing ?

When you replace the thermostat, be sure it's only a Ford or IH stat, nothing else is good. Also check the check ball in the housing to make sure it's free, shake it if it rattles it's OK . Don't use any RTV on the stat gasket, plugs up the check ball hole. Use a very thin film of grease to hold gasket in place until thermostat is in place..
