are these engines worth trying to upgrade?

i just bought a 86 truck with a banks kit on it...the engine is shot but runs...i was wondering if it would be worth the time and effort to remove the banks turbo and install it on another truck...

Re: are these engines worth trying to upgrade?

it has a 6.9 with a banks turbo...i was going to take it all off and put it on a 7.3 in a 91 or so truck..i was told the banks kit is the same for the 6.9 and the 7.3

Re: are these engines worth trying to upgrade?

You were told correctly...yes. It is worth taking it off and reinstalling it onto another truck. If you dont feel it is...there are fellas standing in line to buy your turbo from you on this site, im sure.
