Timing IP in Houston,TX?

Does anybody know a good shop or mechanic in Houston,TX that can do dynamic timing? Just replaced my IP with one from DIS and truck seems to run good(my special "by the ear" timing using my special "ground thin" custom wrench). I called 2 Ford shops and they said it will take 2 hours and they might have to deal with other stuff like being off a tooth on the gear (never pulled the gear cover)! I told the servive writers that there is nothing to do except just set the timing. I don't want someone "playing" with my IP just to make more money. The IP is warrantied by DIS and already set to specs (and sealed to indicate tampering) If they loan me the equip. I would do it in their parking lot in less than 30 minutes. Other shops I called don't have the timing equipment. Need to set timing by Saturday Aug. 5th (going out of town).
Anybody got any ideas or know somebody that can help?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Timing IP in Houston,TX?

How about the International Dealer on 610?

There's Performance Diesel or Diesel Performance on Shepperd. It's about 1 1/2 miles SW of 45. But when I called them over a year ago, they didn't have the equipment.

Try the Yellow Pages for Diesel Shops. There is one in Pasadena that's supposed to be good but I don't know their name.

When I installed a new pump in my IDI I called a LOT of places trying to find someone to dynamic time it. NO ONE had the equipment and all told me to just line up the two hash marks and that was good, and, they told me that that's all they did.

Good luck

Re: Timing IP in Houston,TX?

The shop in Pasadena is called Bobs truck care (BTC). Not to start a controversy of thier customers, but i brought it there for transmisson rebuild, and they killed the shiftpoints. But i think they have the timing tools.

hope this helps

E4OD shift points are computer controlled. Your trans was probably in limp mode before the rebuild, which would have had high, hard shifts.

As far as I can think of, there's nothing you could do inside an E4OD that would change shift points. Firmness, yes.
