Tire Selection Assistance

I am thinking about getting some new tires. The only thing I am curious about is what size to go with. Here are some things about my driving that could factor into the decision:

-It's a DD
-I dont tow often (once or twice a year)
-Dont want to sacrifice mpg or power (if possible)
-I also want to retain current differential height (if possible)(tire is about 32.5 inches)
-I am hesitant to go with a strictly road tire since I want to use it for hunting and pulling out people if need be.....(I am a good samaritan, its my downfall)

I am going to be moving within the next 6-8 months, due to the military, so I dont know exactly when or where. I am thinking tall/narrow for mileage and ride height ombination. Here are some of the destinations and what I am thinking of getting for tires (size/type) if I get stationed there. Let me know what you guys think (input welcome but dont be insulting)

Hawaii-selling the truck!
Alaska-255/85 16 BFG AT or a retread at/mt
Upstate NY-SAME as above
Colorado Springs-???
Tacoma, WA-255/85 16 at or retread at/mt
Fayetteville, NC-235/85 16 at/mt
Clarksville, TN-235/85 16 at/mt

When I do find out that should help clean up the loose ends. I am open to retreads from the Green Diamond place sinceI have heard zero bad feedback about them.....let me know what you guys think....I wont buy until later this summer or when I find out my destination. Oh, I will be pulling a 4k-8k trailer to my destination from lower Alabama.....wheels are 16x8

Thanks
Thad

I just bought another set of BFG Commercial TAs from Costco. They're a 50k tire, but I got 63k out of my last set. It's an all-season tire. I don't have 4x4, but my limited slip and these tires do ok on the sand at the lake.

I put Nokian Vativas On mine (235/85r16). They come with an 80,000 Km (50 000 miles) tread life Guarantee.

I live in the Pacific Northwest ( Vancouver Island) where we get slush & rain, and lots of it ( I'm talking feet, not inches.)

Nokians now have 20, 000 kms with no visible signs of wear. Not too noisy on pavement, great in the wet stuff. All round great tire, but they do tend to throw rocks a little ( like 25 feet of gravel road will have you tossing stones for 5 minutes). Pump them up to 65 PSI for heavy loads, run at about 40 psi when empty for softer rides.

Think I paid 1200 bucks (CDN) about 2 years ago. That was WAY cheaper than BF Goodrich.
