Re: tranny cooler

This is a recent post question about the Aux trans filter.

http://forums.thedieselstop.com/ubbt...31&fpart=1

As far as the "dinky" factory one you refer to. Are you referring to the botton Rad tank? Or a existing Aux tranny cooler?
I have a Aux. cooler installed by the P.O. then a larger Aux cooler that I had installed. Plus the existing Rad tank cooler. All 3 in combination work great.

Re: tranny cooler

there is no aux cooler, just the rad cooler. Gonna get the premium filter line kit from perma cool, just need help deciding on the aux cooler.

Re: tranny cooler

I put in a Tru-Cool 4739 MAX from dieselsite.com. I had to remove the bypass because I wasn't getting enough flow. They now sell it without the bypass. It is rated to cool 40,000 GVW and 45,000 BTU. I works very very well.

I do have mine running throught the radiator first, but mostly as a heater ...
