The big coolant hoses are the ones for the heater core, since they are the same size it don't really matter which one goes where exactly - I got the inboard one hooked up to the water pump, and the outboard one down to the engine head, I also got a Ranger flow-diverter valve plumbed in to keep coolant flow through the heater core to a minimum while running the A/C.
