transfer case stuck in 4 hi

Hey guy's. I am in the mist of getting my truck all redone. I striped the truck down to just the cab. I went out a got a hole new front end and another bed. As i was moving the truck around i was leaving black marks allover the drive way and mom was not to happy. so i put it in 4-hi to stop the back wheel's from spinning. But now i am just about done and i got the new carpet in and i cant get it back in to 2-hi. I can move it in to 4-low and back to 4-hi. but it will not go in to 2-hi. I drove the truck up and down road both forward and in reverse. I lock in the hubs and did it all over agen. Does any one have any idea what gone on here. I am just about ready to start jumping on to to see if that will help.

Re: transfer case stuck in 4 hi

Try putting it in 2Hi with the transmssion in neutral, if that does not work, go down the road, let off of throttle and try to slide it up. Still no go, get someone in the cab trying to put it in 2HI and check the linkage underneath for any binding.
