Truck won't turn over at times

Over the past couple of days my truck has took 3 spells where it will not turn over. The first time I just kept playing with it and it finally started rolling over, the second time I rolled it down a small hill and had it in gear, dumped the clutch and then tried starting it by key and it rolled right over like nothing was wrong. The third time I had to pull start it. I don't understand it cause it will only do it once in a while. Other times you will go to start it and it will start fine. What is is doing when I try to start it and it acts up seems like the starter locking up. It will bump the starter but not turn the engine over, almost like a dead battery but they are fine. Does anyone have any clues or had and experience in this? Thanks!

Re: Truck won't turn over at times

Sounds like a dead spot on the starter armature commutator. Order this starter from Autozone...Duralast-offset gear reduction Mitsubishi, part # 16561 , price $129.99 US dollars, core charge = $120.00 USD( so take old one with you), Limited Lifetime Waranty. Even if your old starter is a different brand (mine was an AC Delco ) get the Mitsubushi- Autozone doesn't care. From what these guys told me about replacing this starter ...I expected it to be very difficult, it wasn't, 15 minutes out, one hour to Autozone and back, 15 minutes back in. It takes longer just to get the tools rounded up. Have fun, Baja
