Turbo Center Section Alignment
I am in the process of installing the used Hypermax turbo that I picked up on Ebay (Gotta love ebay!). I was wondering if the center section of the turbo has to be absolutely straight up and down regarding the oil inlet and discharge?
I know that the outside housings on both ends can be loosened and shifted to achieve proper alignment to their respective attachement points (intake hat on the air side, exhaust pipes on the exhaust side). Can the center section be mounted at a slight angle if the oil drain is kept to the bottom half of the turbo?
The reason I ask is that I can't seem to get the proper alignment with the oil drain line into the valley pan. If I can tip the center section slightly, I think it would line up better.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Bill
