1) I've always had white smoke on stat up, but lately it has seemed heavier and longer lasting. Yesterday, while coming down out of the mountains on cruise at 55, I noticed a fog (thin) while coming down a long grade. This stopped as I hit a flat area, and wasn't present on upgrades. Obviously the lack of a load and the downhill contributed to it. Dieselmanns page tells me this is upburned fuel. No oil in the coolant, no coolant in the oil. What gives?

2) Has anyone out there onstalled the Aurora 2000 turbo (part of the kit from ATS)? If so, what are the specs on it as compared to the original factory turbo? Basically is it worth the money as compared to the original?

i would guess your smoke is either from old ip or injectors, or your timing is off.

IP and injectors are getting changed out soon. how does one check the timing on a diesel? and what exactly istimed on these?

White smoke on downgrades is a normal occurance, the minute you touch the accelerator it stops. Cool fuel I believe, Diesel Don explained this once, Mine does it.
