i bought a 94 f250 none running, been sitting 2 years or so. rebuilt the motor an got it running last night. should i run the fuel in it or drain it. it has two tanks an their both just about full. what do ya think....
Drain and flush it. Diesel goes bad over time just like gas, and diesel can be worse because it tends to attract water and bio growth better. Save yourself the trouble and just disconnect your fuel lines at the switch valve and siphon the fuel out. If you wanted to go the extra mile you could then drop your tanks and flush them. Just my two cents.

Were the tanks located inside or outside? If inside, I'd say it's good. If outside, I don't know. 38 gallons would be a lot to waste though. You might have to run it anyway, and just change the filter often.
Around here I would run that fuel no problem. But it is mostly a dry climate and the temperature changes are not too wide. If you live where there is a lot of humidity or have frequent water in the fuel then I would do something different. Easiest thing would be to take the fuel pickup out of the front tank and look down inside there with a flashlight. If it looks clean then go for it, but keep test draining the water separator until you are satisfied there isn't much water in it. Also keep a spare fuel filter or two on hand.
You said that you got the motor running last night, right? Did you fire it up on what you had in the lines and tank? If so, I would say run it. If you have problems with it, then I would drain it. Why bother if it runs ok.
You might want to add a cetane booster/water remover to the tanks. I would plan on changing the fuel filter when you run the tanks out, just as a precaution.
I live in a semi-humid area, right next to the ocean. Diesel powered commercial fishing boats often sit all off season with fuel in them, as do agricultural tractors and logging equipment; they all fire up fine.
If you did have any algae or crud growing in your tanks it will plug the filter, and you'll have to flush it.
I'd gamble on it, and bet the fuel is fine.

no we used new fuel from a 5 gallon jug. we disconected the fuel line were it comes from the tank to the lifter pump, then ran a hose from lifter pump to the jug with new fuel.
My "motorhome" ("Trick Truck" in my sig) had been setting for 2 1/2 years or so when I went to bring it home from Riverside, CA. I changed the fuel filter as a matter of principle and pre-filled the new filter with Stanadyne Performance Formula. After purging the air from the system, it fired off and purred like a CAT. Drain the fuel and bring it over to my house, I'll use it!
I think if it were me, I'd run each tank down to half, then refill with fresh diesel. My F-350 has been more-or-less sitting for a couple years, I don't think a second about firing it up.
But as they say, ignorance is bliss.
