Yeah but I never trust those "never need to check or change for 500,000 miles or 5 years" coolants I still like to check for myself just in case. Not to knock you Ty its just how I am. I remeber when dex was 5 years 500,000 miles and you would not belive how many trash coolant systems came from not changing the coolant in thoses chevys. Plus if mixed with air dex becomes highly acidic eating plastic intake gasket frames and most surfaces lol. Chevy still insists there is no problem but they reformulated the dex and recomend flushing older vehicles and replacing with good ol green. See the way I look at it they can claim anything they want but its me that has to deal with a ruined vehicle and with my truck as a daily driver and that I am blessed enough to have a steady job I dont want to take any changes. Only takes 1 strip and a few minutes of my time to be sure everything is up to snuff and its worth it to me.

To some extent I agree. We should always stay on top of the fluids. But the bid rigs are using long life without a problem. I have been going through the same hassle on what to refill with after installing a coolant filter so I wrote Shell, Prestone, Peak and Chevron specifically about my 97 (pre99) Powerstroke. All of them said their long life product would be perfect. I also mentioned the 'memo' about seal problems and they said that Ford has no problem with their product

Here is my solution

I mounted a Remote to the radiator end cap. Hoses to heater hose tee's. And a T bracket to clear the rad upper hose and the A/C hose.

I will say that unless you want a custom setup, buy the kit. I have more money than the kit price because it seems I upgraded everything. Hi-mile Goodyear hose, JEGS fittings, custom fab bracket, etc. But I am real happy with the fit and appearance. Later I wi have the Baldwin base polished and anodized
