What to do with my Old Injectors?

Week before last I had new injectors put in the 89. DIS did not ask for my old ones as core. Does anyone have a use for them? Don't know what they are worth if anything. Have not had them pop tested or anything so I don't really know what shape they are in. However, I can't tell that the truck runs any better with the new ones. But, it does crank/start alot better. Thanks alot. Mike

Re: What to do with my Old Injectors?

could put them up on ebay as used, condition good, no warranty. And maybe get 20-30 bucks for them, otherwise i'd say trash em. I trashed mine when i got new ones. They weren't worth my time or money trying to fix them up and such.

Re: What to do with my Old Injectors?

I tossed mine in a box and threw them on a shelf in the garage. You never know when someone will need "one" injector, and you happen to have some "working" ones kicking around. That someone might even be you.....

Mike, if you want to send them to me, I'll test them and if there are any good ones, I'll take them to the IDI Weekend and we can give them away as door prizes. The bad ones I would donate to the local rebuilder.

Re: What to do with my Old Injectors?

Well it would not hurt to have a few spares if one of your new ones dies on you on a long trip. Sometimes even new ones fail. I think they can be taken apart and cleaned pretty easy. I think the springs get weak over time.

Re: What to do with my Old Injectors?

Can old injectors be stored, I am thinking of the same thing when I get new ones in a couple of weeks.

Re: What to do with my Old Injectors?

Sure. Put caps on the top and bottom and they will keep.
