What do you think I should ask for my truck?
Hey guys,
I need to sell my truck but dont know what the value of it is,Im hoping you can help me out. Im an honorable man and a Christian so hiding problems to sneak a few extra bucks out of a buyer is not my style.
I bought the truck in Portland OR. from a used car dealer. The dealer was from Montana and had a thing for Ford trucks, so he had a lot of them. Im guessing the truck hit an elk or a moose or an elephant or something huge because the windshield was cracked the brace that holds the radiator was reinforced with some L iron and the grill was broken so only one bolt could hold the grill on. I got new bolts with large washers to hold the grill on, replaced the windshield. The throughout bearing was fried and the truck could hardly be shiffted. i thought it was the slave cylinder so i replaced that. While i had the tranny off(ZF 5 speed) i replaced the clutch with the cheaper version. The driver side fender bracket on the frame had been sheared off, but i believe it can be welded back on. The driver side fender hangs down below the door line. I dont have a welder. there is a crack in the driverside door panel from below the handle to the area were you can put your papers and such.(on the inside of the door) The seat has a hole on its left edge with a broken wire and the seat frame is broken so the seat is only connected on one side of the frame. The frame had ripped out of the floor and flopped around until i got some extra large body washers and secured it, then the seat frame that adjusts back and forth broke. Either someone used the truck alot or was large.
The rear anti lock brakes mostly dont work but sometimes the light goes out. I have narrowed it down to being the fluid resevoir valve that wont let the fluid back out which is normal for a Ford i hear. The truck smokes alot of white smoke especially on starting and the truck takes a long time to start even when its warm outside.
Also someone home made a 5th wheel plate with a ball welded to it. Its mounted to the truck bed by large bolts in the middle of the bed. If you used to own this truck or know who did id be interested in talking to you just to know the history of this truck and what had happened to it. I believe its former owners live in Eastern Oregon or perhaps Idaho. Its two tone red and blck with a hood thats lacking paint. When I got it one of the marker lights on the cab was burned out but i fixed that.
Ive spent some money fixing this truck during the years that ive owned it and just dont have the time to workon it now that im going to school full time and working 60hrs a week for a moving company.
If you were looking at this truck and knew all these problems, what would you say it was worth to you if you had the time and the place to fix it?
Thanks for your help in advance fellas( and ladies)
