What should I add to Kerosene?

And How much? Kerosene is $1.00 a gallon cheaper than diesel. I know there are lubricity issues, should I just dump a quart of motor oil in each tank?
Maybe two cycle oil?

Re: What should I add to Kerosene?

I dont know for sure but vegitable oil could be an option, saposedly you can run 20%vegie oil with 80% diesel with no modifications whatsoever. Could work with kerosene. Where do you buy kerosene in that quantity?

Re: What should I add to Kerosene?

I'm sure there's no real scientific data but I would say a quart or so per tank should lube it up enough.

That or grab a gallon of used fryer oil (filter it first) that should do the trick as well.

The Local Motomart has a K-1 pump right there on the fuel island.

Re: What should I add to Kerosene?

Keeping in mind that K1 would be illegal to use on public roadways because there are no road taxes on it. Also Kerosene "may" be a much dirtier fuel, meaning contaminants and abrasives.

Basically, don't do it.

Re: What should I add to Kerosene?

At $1.00 less per gallon, it will pay for itself in 8 fill ups if you need a new IP. Funny how we start to think of things being cheaper than a tank of fuel these days.
