What's It Worth?

I know I'm not really supposed to post this here, but I'm not exactly selling sooo...

I've got an '89 crew cab long bed F-350, 4x4, ZF-5, ball-joint Dana 60 truck that I am thinking really hard about selling. As many of you might remember, this is the truck that I changed all the gaskets on because of a massive oil leak. To summarize, it no longer leaks oil, but burns about 1 gallon every tank, so obviously it needs a motor. On the bright side, the cab is perfectly rust free- there is not one speck on it anywhere, including underneath. That is a genuine rarity around here. It was a Centurion package truck- but has a different, less perfect bed on. There are a few minor dings in the doors, and on the top of the cab.

What do you all think it's worth? The guy I bought it from wants it back bad, and all I care about is finally getting my Cummins dropped into something. I would love to keep both my '94 and this '89 (since it's rust free original) but I can't afford two toys. This guy wants to trade me 3 perfect doors, a hood, a divorced 205 transfercase, a perfect tailgate, and I keep the following parts off my '89: engine, Dana 60 front, bed, hide-a-way gooseneck plate, and wheels and tires (brand new 37" military tires, not shown in the picture- those are 35" ground hawgs).

Sorry for the long and way too detailed post, but I would just like opinions...or if anyone wants to buy it, let me know lol.

its worth what the buyer wants to pay
it depends on location and use too
but the deal he made you sounds good if youll use the parts on ur other truck

That's kind of what I figured, 88beast. Even though it's a one-in-a-million rust free vehicle for this area, it's just not my style (don't like crew cabs, or 87-91 front ends).

rednexx, the motor runs ok, just likes to consume an abundance of oil, which I attribute to something other than the cracks themselves, like worn out rings.

I just bought a 94 F250 ext cab with turbo IDI motor and 285k on the clock. It had a bad engine.... it knocks loud on the bottom end but i bought it anyways, drove home and then it threw up coolant and oil onto the ground on the way home. I paid 1500 cash for it and there is no rust on frame and none on body other then the crunched area between door and drivers quarter panel. Its even about the same color (although mine has a bit more of a pink look. Wish I coulda found a crew cab! I'm jealous

On another note, I bought a second truck to be an engine/parts donor. It was a 1990 F350 ext cab Dually with a remanufactered 7.3 nonturbo IDI engine that had only 30k. Not sure how much was on the rest of the truck. This one had a swiss cheese body (decent amount of rust) and no tranny. Paid 800 cash for that.

Pics of both...

I would never junk any good parts remaining on it...you'll be kicking yourself later when you need another part- and it's on that you junked.

Does anyone want the motor or turbo kit?

Let me know what you want for ALL of the Turbo Kit Parts ( Down Pipe, turbo Pedestal, Valve Cover ( holds Glow Plug Controller ), Crankcase Vent Pipe and Crankcase Vent part on the front of the Injection Pump, etc. etc. ).

Greetings Hoosier from a Former Hoosier ( Elkhart ). I worked for a short time in Fort Wayne, A former High School Buddy / College Roommate lives there.

Please Advise.

Thanks,

Glad to meet a fellow Hoosier- there seems to be quite a few drifting around here.
Where are you located at nowadays since leaving the area? I bet you miss it...

Out in the "Peoples Republic of Portland" - There IS a Reason this is referred to as the "Left Coast" Do Miss the Heartland - good people there, not so many drugged out and narrow minded. Have lived in the East ( won't do that again either ), and in the South ( don't want a wife from there either - different sense of morality ) and now here. Home town has upwards of 20% unemployment ( Elkhart ) and it doesn't look like it will get any better any time
soon.

Am still interested in Turbo parts. Please advise.

Yeah I can definitely understand your sentiments. I love living in a place where I can feel comfortable leaving my vehicles unlocked, with the keys in it.
PM sent.
