Well, me and the wifey were talking tonight, and somehow she has agreed to let me get another truck. The bad part of this is- I have to sell my current ride. I'm not looking to buy a brand new one, maybe one built in this decade. Please everyone here remind me why I dont want to buy a new to me truck. If I do get one, it wont be an IDI, or Powerchoke for that matter. More than likely will be a goat. I really like the 12 valves but not crazy about the truck that comes with it. Ideally I would put a cummins in my truck now, but its hard to convince the bank that I need 3 grand to "fix" my truck. So what would you do? Its kinda like a horse that has the gate open to the hay patch with a rider pulling him the other way. I have thought about this a lot lately too.
the reasons I have stayed with mine, Even with the problems I have had recently, are...
I know what condition the truck I have is in.
I know with the help of people here I can fix it.... Again.
No payment, so I can do other things with that 400 per month for a 2001 truck
No computers! I have never had to walk when having an issue. I have always been able to get it to run and get me back to town.
Ya, it does not have as much power as I would like, but I can afford to take a few extra days off because I do not have to make that bug payment.
Your truck looks like a real nice rig.
But You have to be happy with it. Good luck deciding...

Your truck looks great, why would you want anything else? Unless you need really big hp, I'd stick with the trusty IDI turbo. Add the ATS kit and gauges then turn up the boost and fuel. It should feel like a new truck for under $1k.

Never really thought about how much to ask for it. I "am" kinda partial to the ole girl. I guess after thinking on it, I really would like to keep her. I too do know what condition its in, and can work on it when needed. I guess if I was to sell, I would price it so high that no one would buy it. So what kinda mods can I do for under a grand to "pep" it up. I do need to change pump, injectors, and return lines, would like to put a ram-air setup in, add a bigger exhaust and maybe one day add propane.

If you don't have the money to put a new engine in yours, then you should not be in a newer truck either. What happens when the engine goes out in that new truck? Than, you'd really be in trouble.
You're still pretty young, aren't you?? You'll have plenty of time for that stuff.
